Countdown...

Solarer Berg - Quelle Roth Challenge 2009

The countdown has begun and so too has the taper. Quelle Challenge Roth is less than two weeks away now so time to back off on the training and ensure that I am as fresh as a daisy come July 12th.

I could not have asked for better preparation for this race really, although there has been a few disruptions with us emmigrating out to Australia in March, my training has been spot on and I am feeling really good in all three disciplines. I have also lost over 3kgs since Ironman Australia early this year (blog entry), so I feel both stronger and lighter!

The last week was really good with some high quality sessions with old training partners and it was exactly what I needed three weeks out. Although my training had been good out in Australia, I was mostly training solo; so putting in a couple of weeks with old training buddies has been really beneficial. Thanks guys!

The weather has been really warm out here in the UK this past week too, so it has been a bit  of a shock to the system but absolutely great to train in. Hopefully the good weather will follow us to Roth this year as opposed to last year which saw us race in torrential rain most of the race (pictured above).

    Laters,

    Simon
