Better late than never as they say. This new website has been a little long in the coming but I have eventually finished it and thanks to ivordesign.co.uk for the great new design.
This does coincide with some new beginnings in my life as you might have read in past posts on my old blog. I am now married to Kate and based in Sydney, Austalia after moving across at the end of March. I am busy settling down here and slowly finding a bit of routine with my training. The facilities that are available out here are just great. 50m pools are the norm and most roads have cycle lanes / emergency lanes (see above) that makes cycling hugely safer and of course, the weather and sea views all add to great training venues. The only problem I have at this stage is training partners and it seems not every continent has a Gazman; which is very unfortunate. I am feeling overall quite strong and have pretty much fully recovered from Ironman now, the only thing is that there are no more triathlons now till August which is a pity but I might go and find some duathlons and incorporate those into my Roth preparations. I actually did a duathlon that was organised by the Central Coast Triathlon club on Sunday and completed it first ! It was a good short and sharp session and it was a load of fun in the mud on the MTB. If you are on Facebook, check out some photos here.
In other news, it is no secret that Australia is quite a dry continent and a lot of houses have there own water supply; be it bore, rain or even private dams. This past week, we had problems with the pump system in the house where we are and we tried in vain to fix it one night. So we had to resort to bottled water for a couple of days and showering at the local fitness club. I still think it is really cool to be self-sufficient like this, at least when the pumps work that is.
The weather is definately getting cooler now as we head into autumn and there is a fair bit of rain around too. The weather can change quite quick over here too, one minute it is bright, sunny skies and the next it is dark and raining. Apparently it is like that during the changes of seasons.
